Interrogation Tactics and Social Engineering
Wednesday, October 7th, 2009When we decided to do the release of our first podcast we had many people who were skeptical about Interrogation and Social Engineering actually meshing. Heck a lot of people where even sure if they could ever be tied in.
Well we did it. We found a willing participant, Matt Churchill. He was not only willing to be interviewed as an ex-law enforcement agent with interrogation experience but he began to contribute some of that knowledge to the framework.
Over all the podcast was well received. We had so much positve feedback and we want to thank the community for its excellent support.

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009Social Engineering has a bad reputation with the multitude of sites devoted to “How to Lie”, “How to get this or that free” and “How to fraud people”. We wanted a place where professional, security-minded industry experts can share ideas, tools and just have conversations that are “above board”. We wanted to create a place where professional social engineers can meet and share information with industry expert on deception detection, interrogation, neuro lingustic programming, elicitation and pretexting. Not just from one angle but how all these different aspects can be utilized in different parts of life.
So we designed social-engineer.org as a place that houses tools, scripts, videos, how-to’s and monthly podcasts that will feature aspects of social engineering from the perception of security, interrogation, deception detection, penetration testing, psychology, law enforcement and so many more fields.
What are the goals of social-engineer.org?
Primarily our goal is to bring awareness to the threats out there. The threats in phishing, cons, identity theft… the malicious parts of social engineering that are robbing from so many of us.
We also want a community where people from all walks of life that use aspects of social engineering can come and share their experiences. This is what we tried to create at www.social-engineer.org. Our key feature being the webs only Social Engineering Framework. A outline of all the aspects of social engineering and how they relate to security, to life, to our jobs and hobbies. We have collected news reports, stories and experiences from the web as well as research from industry experts and compiled it all to make this an amazing tool for all to use.
The Framework, as well as the site, will be a living, breathing entity…. it will continue to grow as time passes. More in depth research, more how-tos and videos, more tools – all will continue to enhance the site.

Our vision is to continue to add to the framework and research new and exciting vectors in this field. To work together with industry experts in expanding this technology. To continue working together to create a truly unique and special community of people interested in social engineering.

This course will take you on a journey through the Metasploit Framework in full detail, and will include the latest MSF features such as:

The course will be presented in the usual “Offensive Security” online format (pdf + videos) and is designed to surprise even experienced MSF users.
The PDF guide along with offline labs for the course will be free of charge. We are working with Metasploit.com and Hackers for Charity to put all proceeds from this course towards feeding children in Kenya and Uganda. The course videos will be available for a small fee. All proceeds will be donated to Hackers for Charity.
This course opens up a new Metasploit Framework Certification track – the OSMP, Offensive Security Metasploit Professional. The certification exam will be based on hands-on exercises requiring the student to prove they have mastered the MSF in all aspects. The Certification will only be available to those who purchase the videos – our way of encouraging donations to HFC. Remember – all proceeds go towards a very good cause.
The course is almost ready and we expect a public release around late August, 2009.
