Do the accounts get deleted?

Google scans emails for targeted advertising. Why dont i get an ad that warns me about scam emails when Gmail scans an email that looks like its trying to scam me?

Do the accounts get deleted?

In a sense, yes, because if you reply to this (or any phishing e-mail) with your account information they will hijack your account, use it to send out tons of spam to everyone on your contact list, and often delete everything in your account to make it impossible to recover.  That's almost as good as a deletion.

Gmail does what they can to warn users, but the final responsibility for the security of your account is still yours.  At least you posted to ask about it.  To many people don't and then we see the posts here about an empty account and complaints from their contacts about getting spam from them.
